FROM THE CREATOR

About the game

One star. One slingshot. Every orbit pays. Drag back and let go to fling a speck of dust around a little sun. Too slow and it falls in; too fast and it flies off into the dark. Get it just right and it circles forever, paying out every lap.

WHAT HAPPENED WHEN WE PLAYED

Our playtest

The official project’s embedded player failed to connect in this session. Opening the itch.zone iframe URL already linked by that project loaded Orbital with Era I · Star, zero credits and five orbit slots.

A sideways drag launched a body around the central star. Subsequent sideways launches briefly increased the orbit count; one later disappeared. Credits increased from zero to one and later to thirteen, with the displayed earnings rate varying as bodies moved.

A two-pixel drag returned a slingshot instruction instead of a useful launch. A launch toward the star did not add a lasting occupied slot. We could drag and release again without restarting the game.

After another sideways launch, the display reached 2/5 occupied slots. The Orbit Slots upgrade was available for 12 game credits; clicking it changed capacity to 2/7 and showed Lv 1, with the next upgrade priced at 27.

Reloading the official hosted player preserved the two occupied slots and the seven-slot capacity. This test covered launching, lost or ineffective launches, retrying, earning and one upgrade. Later eras, auto-launchers and the ending were not tested.

Who it may suit

Players who like experimenting with gravity and watching a small incremental system develop. The creator labels it a prototype and lists an average session of about an hour; our opening-loop test does not establish how the later progression plays.

GET INTO IT

Controls and objective

The controls

Drag back with the mouse and release to launch a small body in the opposite direction, like a slingshot. Click an available upgrade in the right-hand panel to spend earned game credits.

Your goal

Keep bodies orbiting the star to earn credits and improve capacity. We tested the opening Star era, not the later Supernova, Singularity or Galaxy progression.

A tip from our playtest

Try a sideways launch across the star’s gravity rather than straight toward its center. Compare the occupied-slot count and credit changes before increasing the drag length; a tiny drag may only show an instruction.

TESTED, NOT ASSUMED

Device checks

We spent 3 minutes testing on . These results describe that session; later updates can change the game.

  • Desktop Chrome on Windows — official hosted playerTEST PASSED

The iframe URL linked by the official project loaded in its own tab. Mouse dragging launched bodies; credits and Orbit Slots responded. About three minutes of active interaction, with idle waiting excluded.

  • Desktop Chrome — embedded itch.io playerTEST FAILED

Run game produced a connection-closed iframe in this session. Direct official hosting worked. This is an observed access limit, not proof that the game is broken for other visitors.

  • Physical phone / tabletNOT TESTED

No physical phone or touch-control test was performed.
